Daniel Calvo Marco obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology (2014) at the University Rey Juan Carlos (Madrid). At that time he joined the Energy department of Advanced Studies Institute of Madrid (IMDEA) for an internship as a laboratory assistant involved in studies about enhancing biofuel production from algae. In 2015 he worked as a laboratory technician at ICV-CSIC at the department of chemistry & physics of surfaces and processes developing glass fertilizers that drastically reduced crops environmental impact. In 2016 he was granted a two year position at the Cristallography and Protein engineering group of the spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) where he mainly focused on protein production and protein structure analysis by crystallography. He became Diamond light source (Oxfordshire) and ALBA synchrotron (Barcelona) beamline user in order to analyse protein crystals by X-Ray diffraction. Later on while he obtained a Master on Food safety by the University Computense of Madrid, he launched the artificial intelligence startup Erudit.ai where he worked as a business developer until the end of 2019. Then he joined the Manuel Rico Lab at IQFR-CSIC as a lab technician where he provides support in the NMR facilities, protein purification and overall laboratory manteinance.
